Ingredients

  • 12 oz bowtie pasta
  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Instructions

Cook the Bowtie Pasta

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Add bowtie pasta. Cook until al dente. Drain and set aside. Save a little pasta water for later.

Prepare the Chicken

  • Cut chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces. Season with salt and pepper. Make sure all pieces are even for uniform cooking.

Sauté the Chicken

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chicken pieces. Cook until golden and fully cooked, about 6–8 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside.

Make the Alfredo Sauce

  • In the same pan, melt butter. Add minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant, careful not to burn.

Add Cream and Broth

  • Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth. Stir gently. Let it simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.

Stir in Parmesan Cheese

  • Add grated Parmesan cheese slowly. Stir until fully melted. Taste and adjust salt and pepper as needed.

Combine Pasta and Chicken

  • Add cooked bowtie pasta and chicken to the sauce. Toss gently to coat every piece. If sauce is too thick, add a bit of reserved pasta water.

Add Finishing Touches

  • Sprinkle chopped parsley and red pepper flakes. Stir gently. Serve immediately while hot and creamy.

Notes

  • Use fresh Parmesan for best flavor.
  • Cook chicken just until done; it will stay juicy in the sauce.
  • Add vegetables like broccoli or spinach for extra nutrition.
  • Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for lighter sauce.
  • Garnish with extra cheese for a restaurant feel.
