Ingredients

  • 4 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes optional
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

Season the Chicken

  • Take the chicken breasts and pat them dry. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and paprika on both sides. This adds flavor and helps create a golden crust when cooking.

Heat the Pan

  • Place a large skillet on medium heat. Add olive oil and let it warm up. Make sure the oil is hot but not smoking. This step helps the chicken cook evenly.

Cook the Chicken

  • Add chicken to the pan carefully. Cook each side for 5–6 minutes until golden brown. Do not move the chicken too much. Remove it and set aside on a plate.

Add Garlic and Butter

  • In the same pan, add butter and minced garlic. Stir gently for one minute. The garlic should smell nice but not burn. This builds the base flavor.

Pour the Cream and Broth

  • Add heavy cream and chicken broth to the pan. Stir slowly and scrape the bottom. This mixes all the tasty bits from the chicken into the sauce.

Add Cheese and Tomatoes

  • Add parmesan cheese and sun-dried tomatoes. Stir until the cheese melts fully. The sauce will start to thicken and become creamy.

Season the Sauce

  • Add oregano and chili flakes. Taste the sauce and adjust salt if needed. Let it cook for a few minutes until slightly thick.

Return Chicken to Pan

  • Place the cooked chicken back into the pan. Spoon the sauce over the chicken. Let it simmer for 5–7 minutes so flavors blend well.

Garnish and Serve

  • Turn off the heat. Add fresh basil on top. Serve hot with your favorite side dish. Enjoy your homemade Marry Me Chicken.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs for more juicy flavor
  • Add spinach for extra nutrition
  • Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for lighter sauce
  • Add mushrooms for earthy taste
  • Adjust chili flakes based on spice level
  • Let chicken rest before serving for better texture
