Ingredients

  • 400 g spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 carrot finely chopped
  • 1 celery stalk finely chopped
  • 400 g ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 400 g canned tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar optional
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • Grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

Prepare the Vegetables

  • Chop onion, garlic, carrot, and celery into small pieces. Keep everything ready before cooking. This step saves time later. Fresh vegetables make the sauce taste rich and natural.

Cook the Base

  • Heat olive oil in a deep pan. Add onion and cook until soft. Then add garlic, carrot, and celery. Stir well and cook for five minutes until fragrant.

Add the Ground Beef

  • Add ground beef to the pan. Break it with a spoon. Cook until it turns brown and no pink remains. This step builds the base flavor of the dish.

Add Tomato Paste

  • Mix in tomato paste and cook for two minutes. This adds a deep, rich taste. Stir well so everything blends nicely together.

Pour in Tomatoes

  • Add canned tomatoes and stir. Crush them slightly with your spoon. This gives a smooth texture to the sauce. Let it simmer gently.

Add Herbs and Seasoning

  • Add oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well. If the sauce tastes too acidic, add a little sugar. This balances the flavor nicely.

Simmer the Sauce

  • Let the sauce cook on low heat for 30 minutes. Stir sometimes. The longer it cooks, the better it tastes. It becomes thick and rich.

Cook the Spaghetti

  • Boil water in a large pot. Add salt and spaghetti. Cook until al dente. Drain and keep aside. Do not overcook the pasta.

Combine Pasta and Sauce

  • Add cooked spaghetti to the sauce. Toss gently so every strand gets coated. This step brings everything together perfectly.

Serve and Garnish

  • Serve hot on a plate. Add fresh parsley and grated parmesan on top. Enjoy every bite with a smile.

Notes

  • Use fresh herbs for better flavor
  • Add a splash of milk for a creamy texture
  • Try ground chicken for a lighter version
  • Cook sauce longer for deeper taste
  • Add chili flakes if you like spice
